Katharine S. Hatch
Katharine “Kat” Hatch confidently and skillfully pursues her client’s goals in and out of the courtroom. She is a highly skilled and fierce litigator, having conducted over forty trials and countless bench trials. Ms. Hatch’s extensive courtroom experience makes her a formidable opponent in negotiations on behalf of her clients, as she does not shy away from litigation when necessary to achieve her client’s goals.
Ms. Hatch encourages settlement when possible due to the sensitive and personal nature of divorce and family law. She balances the right degree of patience and strength to achieve progress and the best results on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining Steiner Howeth Pasquesi and Hatch, she was an assistant public defender for over 15 years and handled complex criminal felony matters, including domestic violence and orders of protection. In addition to perfecting her litigation skills, this experience gives Ms. Hatch a unique perspective when providing guidance to her divorce and family law clients through moments of crisis.
Ms. Hatch has served as a member of the Therapeutic and Intensive Monitoring (TIM) court team for the 19th Judicial Circuit focusing on substance abuse and mental illness diversion for hundreds of clients. Often, there are issues involving substance abuse or mental illness (or both) in divorce and family law situations, and Ms. Hatch’s extensive experience directly dealing with these complex issues in the context of the law gives her a deeper understanding and strategic edge over her opponent.
After graduating from a private women’s college, Ms. Hatch focused on the unique challenges of impoverished women. As a result of her diverse legal and educational background, Ms. Hatch is well-equipped to meet the unique challenges of divorce and family law clients. Ms. Hatch looks forward to continuing to work with her clients to develop clear strategies of success to achieve her clients’ goals.
